Great DVD player, Caution for the Wireless FM, March 24, 2010 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Power Acoustik HDVD-93GR Single 9-Inch Replacement Headrest with DVD and Video Monitor (Gray) (Electronics) I got this for my 2 year old daughter when we take long rides in the car. It's great for keeping her entertained, and I wish I'd bought one sooner.
I put this in my 2008 Honda CRV. I should have purchased the dark grey color. The "grey" version is lighter than my existing seats. Oh well.
Video quality is great. No complaints.
I can't seem to get the remote to work unless it's right in front of the unit. Not so great if I need to make adjustments for my daughter while I'm in the front seat (like restarting a DVD). Hopefully she will learn the remote soon on her own!
I had it professionally installed, which cost me about one hundred fifty bucks. It took about an hour for the install.
The big problem I had was with the audio. The wireless FM transmitter (for playing sound through the speakers) is horrible in my car. It emitted a very loud HUM, no matter which channel I set it to, and the overall volume on the DVDs were... Read more

Stopped Working at 8 Months, July 6, 2011 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Power Acoustik HDVD-93GR Single 9-Inch Replacement Headrest with DVD and Video Monitor (Gray) (Electronics) DVD player stopped working at 8 months. It would spin the disc but not read it.
I purchased a DVD laser cleaner, hoping it would fix it. I cleaned the laser and it did not help. The screen would work, if you used a different portable device to play through the screen. Which we did for a trip we had planned, right after the unit stopped working.
Important note on the warranty of this item, it says it has a 12 month warranty. However, that is only if you pay for a professional installation from a professional installation facility and you keep the receipt and paperwork for the install. If you self install, the warranty is only 90 days!!! I paid a coworker to install and it worked great for 8 months.
Thankfully, I had purchased an extended warranty here on Amazon. If you still decide to purchase, get some kind of extended warranty.
