Incredible sound, February 23, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Focal Access 165 A3 6.5-Inch 3-Way Component Speaker Kit (Electronics) Can't say anything but wow! These speakers put out incredible sound and are super loud. I have these hooked up to a rockford fosgate amp and it is like listening to music for the first time. You can make out every note and percussion hit. Despite being in Focal's entry level access line, they sound as good as speakers costing 2 to 3 times as much. If you are a true audiophile the tweeters might be a little bright, but flipping the switch on the crossover to -3db will knock most of it away. They also get a little less bright as the speakers break in. These are completely worth the money if you want true high quality sound.

I purchased this speaker system, together with a Kenwood DNX6990 HD navigation unit, to install into a 2007 Honda Odyssey. I ran into two problems, neither entirely the fault of Focal, though clearer instructions on the applications of these speakers would have been very helpful and, most likely, would have resulted in my purchasing a different set of speakers.
Problem 1: This speaker set features a pair of tweeters, a pair of mid-ranges, and a pair of woofers. Together in a small vehicle, I'm sure the six speakers blend the sound frequencies well. Spread across any space say, larger than a Honda Accord, and the sound separation becomes too much. In my case, when sitting in the driver and passenger seats, only the highs and mids could be heard.
