1 of 1 people found the following review helpful GARBAGE!, August 13, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Lanzar MXBB122 Max Pro Dual 12-Inch 2400 Watt High Power Ported Subwoofer Enclosure (Electronics) I am like all the other thinking "Oh a decent deal" I have a little alpine 500m and i thought this would be a perfect match. I was currently using a 15" Pyramid Super pro in a large box with about 300 watts RMS according to the amp at 4 ohms.
I got really excited to hook these up. First off, all the specs are bogus. The 2 12's and the box weigh in at about 15lbs. junk. Spun aluminum ports? Try plastic chrome. junk. Woofers outside say Lanzar MAX. Whatever is inside looks like Lanzar WACK! Like 26 gauge wire.
So I hooked this up and it sounded like my factory 8 inch deck woofer. Im not even kidding. I measured everything. The woofers where 4 ohms. I thought I had hooked them up backwards or out of phase. I have never heard of something not working, especially subs. THEY ARE FRICKIN SUBS!. Hoe can these be this awful.
Then i thought it was my amp, nope. Amp slammered on my 15"
I have returned this item to amazon and deemed... Read more
Wow!, September 3, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Lanzar MXBB122 Max Pro Dual 12-Inch 2400 Watt High Power Ported Subwoofer Enclosure (Electronics) So I bought these because it was convenient. A loaded box with 2 high powered 12's for what I paid at the time was around $130 was a steal... so I thought.
I got everything installed finally, and went to play it. 2400 Watts is FARRRRRRR from what these things can push. I'd be surprised if they are even pushing more than 300 or so... peak. Its been about 2 days since I got these installed. One of the speakers has already blown. I should have known when as soon as I started playing them even at 1/2 volume on my deck I could smell the voice coil burning. I thought it might be the fact that the VBP281 was not rated anywhere near what it was either... So I removed the blown Lanzar speaker from the enclosure and replaced it with a Infinity Reference 1252w that I had laying around... It was LOUD. So the amp is working great.
All in all, if you want a great looking enclosure... with some speakers that you can essentially toss in the trash or attempt to sell them to someone... Read more
